Have you ever wondered why some people are able to solve problems faster than others? Why the guy next to you with the same brains and ability consistently gets better performance?
Wonder no longer.
Those people are able to perform better for one reason and one reason only… they’ve got better ideas than you.
You may think they’re just more motivated than you.
Think again. They have better ideas about how to motivate themselves.
You may think they’re smarter than you.
Think again. They have better ideas on how to learn things.
You may think they’re luckier than you.
Wrong again. They just know how to find opportunities better than you do.
How did they gain this ability?
Most of these superb performers gained this ability through learning to brainstorm. Sure they may not have taken a formal class in brainstorming or read an article like this one.
But if you ask one of these high performers for a solution to a problem, they’ll often rattle off a bunch of ideas either now or in a few minutes when they’ve had some time to think for a bit.
What they are doing is asking just one question and then answering it with even the most ludicrous of ideas.
The question is “how?”
Yes it’s that simple. They don’t ask “who’s at fault?” or “why’d this happen?” They ask “how do we make the thing we want happen to happen now or in the near future.”
Then they accept each idea no matter how crazy or even boring or simplistic and ask again. “How could I make that idea work?”
Once they have an answer they put it into practice, leaving you in the dust.
